My current work authorization STEM OPT will expire in late Jan. 2018, I am writing as I wonder if do I need to have work authorization in US when filing for H1B?

Besides, if a company agrees to file a H1B for me? Are there any specific requirement on that company? Where I can find more information?

是的，在申请H1B之前你需要有合法的身份才能待在美国，或者雇主愿意给你申请，你也可以回国等待结果。

雇主没有硬性条件，移民局会从公司规模，经营状况以及你专业相关度进行综合考量。
